What Can I Do to Help My Team?

You know, I'm asked often by brokers, team leaders, managers and agents a very important question, "What can I do to help my team? My colleagues? My office? My industry?" And it's really a terrific thing to hear, especially in today's world. In the 'old days' sales pros used to be a lot more territorial. Afraid to share. Unwilling to connect with those around them. You just don't see that as much anymore. And that, in my opinion, is a REALLY good thing.
So when asked what you can do to help yourself, your career AND the people around you, I'd say SHARE. Don't be shy about learning. Or sharing what you learn with your team members and colleagues. We all take different lessons from every course, every article, every experience. By blending those insights and sharing the resources you come across you really are helping to raise the bar for everyone around you.
I love when I'm at an event or meeting with a broker or get an email from a manager that say, "Thanks Floyd! I shared last week's blog post with everyone in my office and it made a difference." Or when they take the resources we are delivering and turn it into the foundation for an office meeting or round-table discussion. That's what it's all about. If you can take a topic each week and create a synergy and starting point for the people on your team to look at the way they are doing business differently, you've scored one for the week. When you can hand deliver an article that will help your agents get even one more listing a week. You've elevated the market share and momentum of your team with one small step.
What can you do for your team? Share it all. Take what you're learning and let the floodgates open to ideas and perspectives that can help to make EVERYONE a little better. A little stronger negotiator. A little savvier lister. A more confident presenter. A smarter manager of time. The results you'll get in return? INCREDIBLE.
